Trauma… what it is and what it’s not. Trauma is not an event, an experience, a person, a place. Trauma is simply a disconnect from the physical body; trauma is what is left in the body after a traumatic event or experience. The physical body is, more often than not, forgotten when going through therapy. This workshop does not require anyone to discuss the experience(s) they’ve endured, but rather you will walk away with tools to develop and deepen your own mind-body connection. Upon completion of the workshop, teacher, Stacie Brock, is hopeful you will be able to identify where trauma shows up in the body and how to work with it instead of pushing it away.
As founder of the Overcoming Trauma Project, Stacie's work fully encompasses the mind-body connection and is informed by 10+ years as a Licensed Massage Therapist with a specialty in Structural Integration, CranioSacral Therapy, TraumaInformed Yoga Therapy, studies in addiction, trauma, the central nervous system, and my own personal life experiences.
